What Will Be The Best CPU For My Rig

Hi there Community

I need Some advice on a new CPU upgrade that wil optimize my current hardware
spec's are...

MB - ASUS m3n-ht Deluxe/mempipe (up-to-date BIOS)
CPU - AMD Phenom 9850 be 2.5GHZ (OC to 3.00GHZ) ({--Crap)
GPU(1) - Inno3d 9800 GTX+ (2.0 x16) SLI with
GPU(2) - Inno3d 9800 GTX+ (2.0 x16) (Very happy)
RAM - 4x2GB DDR2 800mhz (8GB)
PRIMARY DRIVE - Samsung 128GB SSD (AHCI) (And 5 normal HDD 7200rpm)
PSU - Sparta 750w (thermaltake ...I think)
LCD - Samsung 32" 1920x1080p (DVI-HDMI Cable)

I believe thats all you need ? (Let me know if you need more)

OK so i cant deside on GHZ vs Core do i go for the Phenom II x4 970 (3.5ghz) or the Phenom II x6 1075T (3.0ghz)

Any info would be appreciated

There arent any games that use 6 cpu cores so if you are using your PC for gaming - get the quad core. If you are going to do image/video editing and other stuff that use the aditional 2 cores - get the hexa core.

going with the phenom ii x4 970 is pointless,better go to a x4 965.And yess,6 core is useless for gaming.

It would be more efficient to buy a Phenom II X4 955BE and overclock it to the same level as a 975, If you're happy with your computer then there's no need to upgrade.

Anudder vote for the 955BE -- snag a $25-$30 after-market cooler and off to 3.8-4GHz (or higher) you go.

+1 X4 955. A lot better CPU than that 1st gen Phenom you're currently running

And if you managed to OC that tough nut, then OC'ing the X4 955 to ~3.8GHz would be a no problem.

Indeed, the 955BE would be the way to go.

Since your current CPU is successfully overclocked to 3.0GHz, and based on the rest of your system components, I see no point in upgrading it as of right now.

Not sure but i think Bulldozer wont be competable with AM2+, so he cant upgrade to them, but he can wait for their release - there might be a drop in the price of the Phenom.

The 955BE is the best pick for this motherboard.
