Hi,

Someone used a wet cloth to wipe my surge protector, where my PC and monitor was plugged in. It is now a day later and everything seems to be working. Should I replace the surge protector in case some water got in it? Or am I OK as long as everything turns on?

Thanks!

If is was submerged under water, or lay someplace where it literally was soaking wet for several hours, replace it. Wiping it off with a wet cloth and allowing it to dry for a day before you use it should be no problem.

Yer fine.

Just don't drop it into a washing machine or dish washing machine to clean it.

How does water cause a voltage increase? It doesn't. Electronics can be washed in a dishwasher as long as it can also be dried. We wash electronics in a dishwasher after manufacturing. The power strip must be dry so that it does not harm itself - does not draw too much current. Excessive voltage is necessary to harm the monitor or computer. How does water cause a voltage increase? It doesn't.
