My gaming pc finally died so I am in the market for a new pc.
My interest is mostly WoW and online flight sim since I have consoles for the other games. I have CS5 and do some picture editing and HD video editing.

What cpu would you recommend? I know that GPU is my main concern(Radeon 6970) and I am thinking of 12GB of RAM for the video editing

I am thinking Intel I7-960 would be overkill, so what would you guys recommend???

I am going to be building this on cyberpowerpc.com

i5-2500K + Gigabyte/ASUS P67 MB. Or wait 2-3 weeks for the Z68 chipset.

+1 for the 2500K, if your getting a 6970 there is no point in getting anything less and for gaming there isn't anything better, the 2600K is better for the video encoding though. Forget the i7 9XXs the whole platform is dead and the Sandy bridge chips are better and cheaper.

Should I be concerned that that the 2500K doesnt support Hyper threading?

Actually if you really do heavy editing you could go for i7 2600k.It saves you a few seconds each time as you continue to use it and has higher cache(8mb).
