I am trying to install win 2000 professional on my computer but I am getting the error msg: "Hardware Malfunction...Call your vendor for support...the system has halted"
I have a Biostar M7MKE motherboard with a classic athlon 800 mhz cpu and 133 mhz 128 mb crucial memory.
I have ruled out other components but the motherboard and ram. (this motherboard is not listed on the HCL list on the Microsoft website)
Biostar recommended me to flash the MKE0501.bin bios but that didn't work.
It seems like the hard drive and the floppy drive keep going on and off during installation and then I get the above msg. Any suggestions?
