System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, internet, etc

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com, amazon, whatever is cheapest and legitamate

Country of Origin: U.S.A.

Parts Preferences: by brand or type: No preference AMD or Intel, ATI (AMD) or Nvidia

Overclocking: Probably not

SLI or Crossfire: If it fits within the budget and offers the best performance

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Would like to be able to run the mmorpg Aion at Max settings

More about 1000 dollar gaming build
  1. Best for $$
  2. ^ uhhh not? I agree with everything except the GPU. That GPU lacks performancce in any resolution above 1680x1050. So I don't recommend go with the Ti. Go with the 6950 1GB. Better performance at that resolution.

    http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/40165-amd-radeon-hd-6950-1gb-review-17.html

Chceck out my website below in my siggy for more help on the build. Its pretty well built IMO.

    http://www.squidoo.com/electronicandmore
  3. A Stock GTX 560 Ti looses 1-2fps on the 6950 1 GB.
It's more like comparing a GIGABYTE GTX 560 Ti almost the equivalent of a GTX 570 to 8 6950 1 GB.
It beats it. at a lower price.
  4. Ok, that's because the Gigabyte is OC'd stock. While you could easily do the same for a 6950 to get it to a 6970's performancce at which the 560 does lose to.
  5. Thats the 2gb variant not the 1gb.
    you can't flash the bios of a 6950 1gb to a 6970

What's the point of the K? he's not gonna overclock.
That HDD doesnt compare to the Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB
    Sabertooth is unnecessary
  12. He didnt write no and its probably not.
So he may need to overclock to play @1080p in future

Samsung Spinpoint and WD Caviar 750GB both have the same features
but the WD has 5 year warranty compare to samsung's 3 year warranty

He can choose the ODD he wants thats his suggestion since all the ODD's have approximately equal features and performance in a specific price range

Youre telling me even though both drives are reliable and the Samsung is a 1TB Drive the 750GB is better because it has 2 years?
    okay.

not hate, aggressively attempting to see reasoning in something we view as flawed.

The reference GTX 560 Ti loses by a tiny bit to the 6950 1 Gb... But when Hardwarecanucks Overclocked the reference GTX 560 it beat the 6950 2Gb!

And we all know that EVGA 560 is made to be OC'ed
