Hi there all! I'm an avid gamer and music/movie enthusiast. 4 years ago I bought Sennheiser HD555s as my primary headphones, to go with them last year I bought the Astro Mixamp, which was well and good for the Xbox 360, but terrible on my PC, especially for music! I'm looking for a new solution for my PC for a budget of around £50 or $80. I looked up some of the X-Fi based sound cards from both creative and auzentech, with the creative x fi music coming into my price range, also the asus xonar series of sound cards. However I've heard bad things about the drivers for 64bit windows 7 (which I have) so maybe a USB (2.0 or 3.0) based DAC or amplifier maybe the way to go, I'm not a fan of dolby surround sound, having used it for a few months on the Astro mixamp, I just simply turned it off as I prefer 2.0 on headphones with good soundstage.

So are there any recommendations for a USB DAC or soundcard that doesn't have problems with windows 7 64bit in the £50 or $80 range?
possibly an asus xonar DG?

xonar ar the better choice. xfi is for gaming and as such has certain inbuilt limitations.

lol I'm primarily a PC gamer, that's why I was looking at X-Fi, but I've had bad experience with their drivers :S
