Does a Dual GPU run at x8 or x16 When Inserted In PCI-E Black Slot?

Hi all

I have an Asus P5Q Pro Turbo. I recently moved my GTX 295 from the blue x16 slot to the black x16 slot becuase i needed more room for a sound card. In the manual it says the black slot is x16 but x8 when it's linked to another GPU.

Becuase the GTX 295 is a dual GPU will the speed now be x8 instead of x16?

The dual GPU is internal on the card, not on the bus.
If you add another GTX 295 then both will drop down to x8
