Sound Not Working

I recently upgraded my video card to an ATI Radeon HD 5600 video card, and the ATI speakers build into my monitor aren't being detected. I tried plugging in headphones but they were not detected either. I use an HP Pavilion a1637c computer and a HP w19b monitor.

I am assuming that they worked before. Check the BIOS and make sure that "On-board" sound is enabled. Also, check the connections once again.

I checked it and it was on auto, I turned it to enabled but it still does not detect the speakers. However, I found a pair of USB headphones that appeared to work, so I'm assuming it is the connection type it is using. I believe it is called an audio jack?
