Looking for the right card

I'm looking for the right card for the job, the job being a card that will take world of warcraft and run it on ultra (including shadows) everywhere I go, the game shouldn't be hard to handle but I have seen some nice cards stutter while in busy cities. I was hopping to keep a solid 60 FPS but if it falls to around 50 that would be fine too. I currently run on a 1280x1024 resolution but plan on going up to a 1920x1080.

Sounds like you need one of the following sngle GPU solutions: HD5850, HD5870, HD6850, or HD6870, at a minimum to do what you propose.

There are also Nvidia based solutions that could meet the need as well. You also have several Crossfire or SLI solutions, but if you desire a sigle GPU ATI based solution, look above.

I can't use SLI without hacked drivers so that isn't a very firm option, I was leaning towards a 5850/5870 to start with, but I wanted to wait for the 6950/6970 to be released encase there would be a slight price drop.

The 6850/6870 are new yes, but I have seen them stutter up quite a bit on ultra (on higher resolutions)

Really depends on the specs for the rest of your system (CPU, RAM, mobo, etc) and the drivers installed. What does your system contain?

I can OC the CPU to about 3.8 with the stock cooling.

All 4 of those should perform quite nicely with your rig.
