More about need understanding motherboard
  1. It has a massive amount of RAM and PCIe slots, probably uses high-end components in everything. Extra PCIe controllers, tons of stuff.

  2. ok thank you i just wanted an outside opinion rather than my own :D
  3. do you know how many SSD i would be able to put in??
  4. And you can use 2x Xeon cpu's for some serious processing power.

The question I'd ask myself is do I really need it??

    Ports: 6 x SATA 3Gbps, 2 x SATA 6Gbps, 2 x eSATA 3Gbps, 10 x USB 2, 2 x USB 3, 2 x LAN, 4 x surround

Is that 8 or 10?? :D as one say 2x Esata
  8. eSata is an external connection.
  9. oh ok so i can have 2 external hard drives attached?
  10. If they attach via usb then you can have as many as you have usb ports spare.
  11. oh so what does it mean by enternal connection (esata)

on eSata yes. eSata and USB3 should be as fast as an internal drive, although with that amount of SATA ports available don't see why you'd need more drives hanging out of the box.
