Hi,

Could you please tell me how I can find out what specification PSU and AC adaptor I would need for a certain motherboard that has no built-in power?

For example, the Sapphire IPC-E350M1W

I can see that the specification of the motherboard states "4-pin ATX 12V Power connector". So once I have the 12V PSU connected to the motherboard, how would I tell what specific wattage and amps I should use on the accompanying AC adaptor?

Many thanks,
Paul.

Thanks for your response.

I have been informed that I can use an internal Pico-PSU, such as this:

Then attach a standard AC adaptor brick such as this:

Although, and back to my original question, I'm not sure what specific wattage and/or amps to go for.

Thanks again,
Paul.

Just to clarify, the psu and brick that I pictured is what I ended up using for this motherboard and so far it works well.

I'm just still not sure about wattages and AMPs and all that, I guess I'll know whether this solution was correct when my PC starts smoking (or not) when I use it.

Paul.
