Not sure what to look at, give me some direction

Hi guys.

I am about to be looking to build a 600-700$ machine, as the one I am currently using is 6 years old. And I still manage to game on it, even though it looks horrible lol.

I am looking for a good pc for gaming.

I play Mortal Online, CSS, Modern Warfare, etc.

Any help would be awesome, I glanced through the threads and didn't see anything that really popped.

I'm experienced in building, just horrible at selecting hardware(lol, i know, i know)

Currently the only piece of hardware that 'might' carry over is my 8800gt, but even that is now outdated so it will probably stay in this system for my wife.

Hmm, $700 is a little tight. You might end up with a phenom II machine or something.

I was able to find everything except the motherboard, it was deactivated on newegg.

And apparently after a little reading on the sandy bridge this morning it would appear that is not the way to go at the moment.. unfortunately I was quite looking forward to my first intel based system that would OC well
