Hey,

I'm looking to upgrade my WGT624 with something beefer.

I like the look of the WNR3500 but it comes in two flavours the L and non L.
From what I have googled the L is a linux based router.

My questions are:

Are they both identical in terms of features? (apparent from the OS)
What benefit does the Linux router give me? (the only one I can think of is SSH)
It is easier to brick the Linux router? or can you just update the router rom with out touching the linux os?
Any opinions on the WNR3500 Series?

Cheers Guys

WNR3500L is an open source router. That means that you can change the firmware running on the router.
http://myopenrouter.com is in Development partnership with several 3rd party software vendors to develop custom applications on WNR3500L.

WNR3500 has an USB port for connecting external drives whereas WNR3500 does not.
WNR3500 on the other hand is not open source router.

Other than that both are pretty much the same.
Oh WNR3500L comes with 8MB Flash for installing your own firmware.

If you don't intend to play with firmware, I would suggest WNR3500
