so while im playing cod black ops i have tried running gpu-z and watch the sensors run on my left monitor and win7's little cpu monitor it says that my cpu is running at 100% while playing and my gpu is at around 30% tops. I have a core 2 duo e6850 and a GTX 460 1gb video card, i was wondering if its possible to utilize more of the gpu and take some load off of the cpu.

There is nothing you can do to make the GPU take the load off your CPU. However, if the GPU was struggling, and holding back performance, the CPU wouldn't be worked as hard, as it's waiting for the GPU to do it's tasks. This wouldn't really be an advantage.

But if the GPU is being under used while the CPU is working hard, a higher resolution would put more load on the GPU, and might not slow down performance at all.
