I have been taking most of my pictures (Canon 300d) in the RAW file format
recently and went to have a look at them in Photoshop 7. However it won't
let me load these files with the .CRW file extensions in.
I have downloaded a Raw plug-in for PS but still no joy.
I got Photoshop Elements with the 300d but I thought this was a cut down
version of PS7 so haven't installed it yet.
Sorry if this is such a silly / basic question but googling has just made
it more confusing.

Perhaps because the plug in does not recognize Canon raw files? BTW
what plugin IS it?

you need either PSE3 or PS/CS to open raw files. You may also want to look
at capture 1 LE

There's also the possibility of using Canon's RAW converter.
I am quite all right with PS CS's plugin and Russell Brown's nifty
script to automate processes.
PS 7 used to support an optional plugin for RAW, but they're no longer
for sale.
