i7 2620m vs i7 2820qm

I'm looking for a Laptop based on CPU. i7 HT Duo vs I7 HT Quad. The GPU that will come with the laptop regardless of the CPU is the Radeon HD 6770M 1GB GDDR5

i7 2620m vs i7 2820qm. The 2620m is a 2nd Gen i7 HT 2 Core @2.7Ghz-3.4Ghz. The 2820qm is a 2nd Gen i7 HT Quad Core @2.3Ghz-3.4Ghz. What would be better for gaming.

Let's say I get a game that requires a Quad Core, would a HT Duo be able to handle it? Would the 2 virtual threads be able to makeup for the lack of physical cores?

I may do some audio recording using pro tools in the future but nothing serious with it. I am more concerned about gaming.

Some games can use more than 2 cores. Games don't use HT.
