Upgrading Ram PC####

Hello,
My computer has only 1G of ram. I'm looking to upgrade it. I know my computer supports DDR2 PC4300....my question is if I buy a DDR2 PC6400 would it work???? The whole PC#### is throwing my off. I'm quite new to learning about computers.

It should, the mobo will down clock the frequency.
