Hey guys. Needing some (well alot) of advice on a new build. I haven't been keeping up with the new hardware / components, and to be honest i never really have. All i've done in the past is prebuilt systems and upgrading every now and then. The time has come to where i'm prepared to build my own system from scratch. But like i said i'm completley lost. I have read all i can on the stickeys and build advice but im afraid i will make wrong choices. I would like the professionals here to , if you would, give me a detailed parts list for what i'd need to get a computer going from scratch. Any and all help is appreciated!

Approximate Purchase Date: As soon as i get a parts list together.

Budget Range: $700-$750. Will go over a bit if the price / performance ratio is worth it.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, gaming and more gaming.

Parts Not Required: Keyboard , mouse, monitor.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg.com

Country of Origin: USA , TN

Parts Preferences: Zero preference. Whatever works the best.

Overclocking:Maybe

SLI or Crossfire:Maybe

Monitor Resolution: Right now it is at 1600 x 900. I'm using a 42" HDTV as a monitor.

Additional Comments:The only part that i have picked out is a case. One that i really like the look of, and has gotten reviews of.

Yeah I saw that, I was just wondering since that leaves me an extra $100 to put down. where it would be best suited? The CPU seems like it could be upgraded.

Reply to carnore

Already have an OS? it wasn't included in the price. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - OEM $100

Reply to WR2

With just a smidgen of luck you might get the 4th core of that Athlon II X3 450 to unlock for you.

Reply to WR2

Well that certainly shot the price up Lol. Up to $780 with the case i added. It seems like the pricing on a few of the components has went up since the list.

Reply to carnore

Yes it does......but using the items in the list as a guide you can possible shop around for lower prices.....or even find equivalent items at lower price @ NewEgg.

Reply to WR2

CORSAIR 650TX 650W $90 and $20 rebate - that would be a net savings of $15 & $4 more for the free shipping to get a slightly better PSU.

Reply to WR2

I'm just a little overwhelmed at the moment lol. I'm ready to order but im exhausting every possible question and concern i have before i order. The only thing i see with the budget build is the CPU. will it handle what i need it to?

Reply to carnore

It will handle all the gaming you want to do, now and in the next couple of years.
Keeping your budget in mind, you're looking at a well balanced system with a good potential for upgrading to a 2nd video card in Crossfire and a good mainstream CPU that should hold it's own for years to come.

Just wanting to make sure before i place this order if the following will do what i need it to.

The only think I'll want to check on is that PSU.

Reply to WR2

And maybe that 1.5V RAM kit.

Reply to WR2

OK, the RAM is cleared. There are other 1.5v kits on the motherboard QVL list.

I could not find an independent review of the RAIDMAX Blackstone RX-700AC PSU.
I did note that it was quite a bit lighter in the +12V rating @ ~46Amps compared to the Corsair 650TX @ 56A.
What attracted you to the RAIDMAX Blackstone?

Reply to WR2

Price point and modular. The Antec truepower Will take it's place though.

Reply to carnore

I'd prefer the Antec 550W over any Raidmax, especially one where I can't find an independent review to say who actually made it, and how well it's built.
I need to point out the Corsair 650TX is only $5 more and with an extra 12amps on the +12v supply. If you're not planning a 2nd video card I certainly have no objections to the Antec 550W.

Looks good to me.
And the Antec TruePower New TP-550 550W should be good for 2x 6850s in CrossfireX too.

Never mind.....it was a spot on my monitor, not an extra period in a bad place.

No, you're good to go. All the cables, etc, you need are in the MB accessory pack.
Just be sure to get back and let us know how it all turned out.

Sounds good, placing my order now, I decided to put
Sunbeam CR-CCTF 120 mm Core-Contact Freezer CPU Cooler
On there as well. Want to be safe. Thanks for everything!
