Hello, I am new to the computer world for the most part. I have a 6 year old dell dimensions 4700 running on XP, that has a 160 GB HDD and a 512 MB ddr2 ram. As you can guess it is slow and really outdated. I considered upgrading to a 2 GB ram. I don't really wanna put any money into this thing being how old it is. It has a pentium 4 (2.8ghz) processor. If anyone has some good ideas on some budget systems that are decent, I live in the usa and have a budget of $400. I mainly use it just for surfing and some downloading movies or music. I can use my monitor I have now, it is an lcd, I am a little lost when it comes to whats a descent system and whats not. Thank you again for helping a neebie understand a little

Here is a HP Pavilion Slimline s5750z Athlon II 250 3.0Ghz dual-core CPU, 4GB RAM, 640GB HDD, Radeon HD 4200 graphics and Win7 Home Premium for $405. That deal expires today though.
You can usually find some bargains on that LogicBuy website.
