So I want to get a gaming computer and use my 42 inch lcd lg tv as its monitor, problem is idk what video card configuration to use. I want to keep it under 1000$ and ill either be going with the intel i5 655k or the intel i7 875k. ill also be grabbing up either 4 or 6 gb of ddr3 ram, and will most definantly have liquid cooling. any help or opinions will be greatly appreciated thanks =].

Ok, I edited my previous post and linked some of the items. The total comes to $1011. You can knock off half the moolah on the GPU by getting a HD5870 for $289:

Total 776

Dual MSI 5770's for $124 each (discounted):

For the games you listed, the GTX 580 isn't necessary, but will give you the capability to play other games in future, should you wish to do so.

I would say the 5870 would be the best bet for your 42" LCD, fits way in your budget too. Plus, you could crossfire in the future should you want more juice. Don't wanna sound naggy...

I would recommend the i7. Reason: Quad over Dual anyday!

As for the GPU, I reckon the GTX 580 should be more than up to the task, unless you can get dual 5870's. Make sure you get a good branded PSU though. A corsair 750W should be fine.

On another note, why are you so keen on getting liquid cooling? I suggest you invest in a good cabinet with a good cooling capacity. Reason: liquid cooling will cost a bit and you can achieve the same results from air cooling. Plus, the idea of liquids running inside your rig ain't the most comforting of ideas! :) I know that its done by many people but just my opinion that you save that extra much and get some good fans to keep the rig cool. None of the cards out there 'really' need liquid cooling.

EDIT:

Have a look at these:

well the site im ordering from offers free liquid cooling and i figured that plus a good cabinent would be best. as for those GPUs theyre a bit pricey i wish i could go for them but with everything else on top of that id be way over 1000$ im not looking for an intense system just one thatll run smoothly on my 42 inch. im looking to play games like starcraft and diablo 3 (when its released) but other than that i just want it to function as a normal computer so are those GPUs really necessary?
