Dell XPS 420

December 4, 2010 9:42:17 AM

Well my Dell XPS420's 256Mb 8800GT has finally packed up with the infamous:

"Display driver NVIDIA Kernel Mode Driver, Version 260.99 stopped responding.."

which means a fried card, fundamentally it means there is something wrong with the system, likely at a hardware level.

I do not know what slot type the NVIDIA 8800 GT uses? My card has failed and I'm not currently about to splash out on a brand new system - yet. Want the meatiest card I can squeeze in the same slot. I know it can take a Radeon HD4850 just fine. Any suggestions? GTX350?
