Hey friends at toms.
I finished my 1st build and it seems to be working well. Temps at idle are 36c-40c thats stock. Then oc'eed to 3.6 I'm getting 44/45c and running prime95 they get up to 70c. Is that ok?
I was thinking I could maybe get better temps so I wanted to reapply the thermal paste but one of the screws is over tightened and I can't remove the cooler to do it. Any advise on how I might do it?
Thanks all.

My build:

AsRock x58-xtreme mobo
Intel Core i7 930 Mhz
CORSAIR DOMINATOR (3x2GB) 240-Pin SDRAM DDR3 CMP6GX3M3A1600C8
CM 690 case
CM 750 watt ps
CM Hyper N520
PowerColor Radeon 5850 gpu
Asus CD ROM
M-audio Studiophile AV 40 speakers

70C on Prime95 for a i7-930 is about what you would expect. It's a 'OK' result as are the idle temps. And your gaming temps should be lower.
My suggestion is to not attempt to force the screw.

Turn off the pc. Lie the pc down on a sturdy non-slipping surface. Carpet floor is fine as long as the right-side panel is on. Remove ram & gpu. Cool the screw with compressed air (computer stores or walmart) for a few minutes. Try to unscrew the stuck screw.

I think you give wise advise WR2. I will not attempt to remove it. The temps are fine the computer works great, I will leave well enough alone. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I will learn from my mistake and next time not go crazy with the screw driver.
If I notice an upturn in temp I will call CM. Take care buddy
