I just purchased the MSI NGTS450 cyclone graphics card, and spent an hour debating with a sales person about the ability of my rig to handle the card. I have a stock FX7020, and the old card was an 8800 gt. The issue was my power supply. Its currently 400w. I'm on a tight budget, and I really didn't want to spend a lot, but if I'm buying a new card, I want an improvement in performance. He pretty much told me I'd have to get a WORSE card than my old 8800gt which made no sense.

Anyway, here's the specs of my PC;

Any help will mean a heck of a lot. Thanks!

GTS 450
Maximum Graphics Card Power (W) 106W
Minimum Recommended System Power (W) 400W
8800GT
Maximum Graphics Card Power (W) 105W
Minimum Recommended System Power (W) 400W

Gateway FX7020 has a 400 watt psu

you're gravy mate :D

also its a pretty good match for your system, you'd be cpu bottlenecked on a gtx for sure, on a gts 450 though you should not have much of any with your AMD Phenom X4 9600

Thanks so much Smiley.

I went ahead and installed the card, but now it says that the standard VGA graphics adapter failed. What's that about?
