I just pulled my sound card that came with my asus striker extreme motherboard and want to install it on another computer. The card is a PCI-E x1 and both my motherboard seems to have that slot, but the the computer I want to install it in seems to have the slot backwards with the 11pin slot facing the left side and the 7pin slot on the right side whereas it is the opposite on my asus striker extreme motherboard

Solution
Is the card the Supreme X-fi ASUS includes with some of its boards? As I recall, they used some sort of special slot to keep the card from being used in other boards...
Am a little confused by your query.. I guess you are little confused by the placement of the slots.. In that case, its just different motherboard manufacturers employing different board designs.. It doesn't brings any changes in the behavior of the slots though.. A pci express X1 will behave the same irrespective of where it gets placed..
