My friend is getting a new pc and he's asking me to help him, so I thought it would be a good idea to ask you guys, here goes...

Approximate Purchase Date: this weekend, maybe the next one

Budget Range: 850USD before rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming (CoD,NFS), MMOs, web surfing, word processing

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com (would prefer it from the same site)

Country of Origin: US

Parts Preferences: by brand or type: None

Overclocking: No

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080 or 1440x900 (getting a new one but not sure because of budget)

Additional Comments: The quieter the better, but it's not really an issue.

Parts that I chose:
I'm still sorta new to these recent parts since I haven't built one in two~three years so I'm not sure
If anything else works better, feel free to comment

I know the graphics card is overkill for the monitor but if I get a larger monitor it goes over the budget.
Any suggestions?

Hello beyblade5566;
Lookin good. Excellent choice of parts. Everything is compatible.
Think you can squeeze a CPU cooler into the build?

That 1440x900 res monitor will do really well with the HD 5770. A good match for gaming.

Um a CPU cooler?
Hm...Guess I could someway or another, would it be hard to install?
I've always used the stock HSF up until now since I don't really OC that much...
the CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ is ok right?

CM Hyper 212+ is excellent - you could even spend a bit less on another model.
Will have to check the fit for that RC=130 case. I was thinking more along the lines of a 92mm CPU cooler.

Here is a gaming case with 3 case fans included - just $5 more when you figure in shipping. Rosewill DESTROYER Gaming Mid Tower Case

I checked the width of both cases, the RC-310 is 7.50" and the rosewill is 7.48".
so the hyper 212+ should fit in both if I get it?

Hyper 212+ 120mm CPU cooler will fit the RC-310 - but just barely.
I think a 92mm cooler would look better inside the case window.

Yes it would fit both - it's only the visual of the CM 212+ almost touching the case window that detracts from the big cooler option, IMO.

anyone else have any suggestions? especially the graphics card and the monitor.
also would the Alienware m11x + a 19" screen be a decent configuration?
