Hello,
just thought i would ask. had installed a second hard drive (seagate) sata and was installing windoews 7. I went away while the install was going on and came back to a computer that would not boot. tried the cdrom/dvd with linux live and got to linux mint 11.10 and then the compute just crashed and now, nothing even after a cmos short. cd and drives show on splash screen, but cd does not start to load. all i hear is a tick repeatedly. tried a disconnect of the cd/dvd drive and nothing. I think the mbr or something is amiss. can you point me in the right direction?

No did not work. Having hard drive copied over and reinstalling software from scratch. Seems to work now. Restoring of fix mbr with Vista/Win7 was not available to me due to non working cd/dvd drive.
