hi - haven't kept up on PSUs in a bit and making a new build, first build in about 3 years:

Asus P8P67 DELUXE
2600k
Radeon 6870
16gb ripjaws
Antec Kuhler
CM HAF 922

is the basics + a bunch of little things.

Not a big gamer, just wanted a more powerful system.

I saw the black widow 850m (modular) for about $65 AR @ newegg the other day, so that sounded like a great deal so i jumped on that.

Then I was reading how many preferred the toughpower series to the black widows, and saw a tP 775w for about $48 after all is said and done @ Tigerdirect, so I figured might as well grab it and sell the other.

Which would you recommend keeping. Not going to be doing heavy duty gaming but might add another video card down the line?

Thanks in advance from this board n00b :-)

Nah - not a mistake, on either one:

Newegg:

Thermaltake Black Widow W0319RU 850W ATX 12V v2.3, EPS 12V v2.91 CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular
Item #: N82E16817153106
Standard Return Policy
$104.99
Promo code -$10.50

makes it $94.49 - $25 rebate = $69.49 + they gave me $20 more off for a combo deal for buying a WD Caviar Green 2TB drive @ $80, so essentially $69.49 for the psu & $60 for the drive, or $59.49 for the psu & $70 for the drive. Plus I got about $2.50 extra using fatwallet's cashback.

Tigerdirect:

1 HILIGHTER,SHARPIE,2PK,YEL $1.79 $1.79 (filler item to get it over $100, to use $10/$100 coupon:
1 T925-2426
Thermaltake Toughpower XT 775w Power Supply $90.19 $90.19
Net Product: $101.98
Sales Tax: $0.00
P & H: $0.00
Total Discount (minus): -$10.00
Total Shipment: $91.98

paid via ebillme which gives you 20% cashback on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so that knocks off about $18.39 from the PSU = $73.59 - $30 rebate = $43.59 + some freebie sharpies to fill out the rebate forms :-)

Pretty good deals, eh?

I figure I could keep whatever is recommended better, and sell the other and make a few bucks as well.

Yeah, that's what I've been reading. I thought the Widow was a great price, but then saw the ToughPower for an even better price and read better reviews for the TP.

Thanks for your input Delluser, much appreciated!
