Good question because im also building a new pc and was very very interested in Shogun 2 since i was a big fan of Medieval Total War. Did you already build your pc? If not you should probably wait until they re-release sandy bridge on April or wait for the new AMD Bulldozer. Or wait till March 15th when Shogun comes out and check out peoples benchmarks. Because the last thing you wanna do is build your new system and find out you can't run the game on high settings. So me and you are in the same boat but at the same time im not in a rush until the they re-release sandy bridge or until bulldozer comes out. But from what i saw on Shogun 2 requirments it said 2nd generation i5-i7 cpu or AMD equivlent with 2gigs-4gigs of ram and AMD 5870 GPU. Also if you live near Microcenter the cpu's are alot cheaper, for instance a i7 950 is 200bucks and on newegg it's 300bucks. They even had the i5 2500k for 179.99 i'd take that any day over the 965 black edition since it's nearly the same price. But you'll have to wait until April i think. Hope this helps
I forgot about the graphics card, i have a gtx 295 atm i also wanna see if i can run that game on high settings with the gtx 295. I would get the GTX 580 or 6970 but i know they'll have a new one 6months from now so i'll probably wait till then before i upgrade my 295. I guess none of us will know yet till the game actually comes out.
