Bios upgrade.

I have purchased new ram and I'm being told to update bios in order for recognition.What do Ido. Please Help

If you have the old functional ram put him back,update the bios and after that change the ram with the new one.

Never in my life have I ever heard of BIOS update is needed because the current BIOS revision will not recognize memory. I guess it's possible, but highly unlikely. Does the new BIOS revision on the list of changes the revision makes state that it includes new support for a memory modules?
