Gt 240 vs 430

lol. another question :D  . to start of GT430 is not meant for serious gaming. even if the card will support dx11 it doesn't have enough horse power to drove the dx11 element in games. so if you have gaming in mind then GT240 is a clear choice to get. but make sure it was the one with GDDR5. btw what kinds of games do you play and at what resolution you're going to play your game?

Yes but most people out there usually are not smart enough to know if they can even use it much less properly install and maintain their hardware. The GT240 is a decent card that doesn't need any extra power while a GT430 is like any other fermi card and they under perform for their specs. The 5670 is about the same performance as a 9800gt but not all that great when it comes to fillrates and the GDDR3 has half the bandwidth of the GDDR5 version as well the 9800gt. The 9800gt that uses a 6pin is the best and can reach higher clocks. Avoid low quality sample and one with very poor cooling for all the obvious reasons.

I would go for the 9800gt myself. I have a 9600gt which according to benchmarks, is pretty close to the GT240, and most of the time my card does fairly well at 1680x1050, but I would say just to be sure grab the 9800 for that little extra muscle.

guys im gettin gts 250
but i have a zebronic 400 w psu
will it run gts 250?

Zebronic? :pt1cable:

That sounds more like a name for condoms more than for a psu unit. Get a quality power supply and if you are on a tight budget go with the unit first then upgrade the gpu later but if you can't wait then you will be taking a risk by upgrading the gpu.

On a power supply like that I would stick with cards that don't need an external power connector. There are models of the 9800GT that do not have a power connector so look for one of those or stick with the HD5670.

a gt 220 is close to gaming card, who says its not,i ve used one,it works awesome when you turn off aa or use low resolution like 1024 x 768 with medium settings,in crysis too when turn off aa,it would be really well.

By getting a GT220 you are wasting your money as a GT240 is about the same price any way, hello cmd ping command the brain. Go with the GT240 as it is faster by 10-15% than the GT430 due to the vram and being able to have differential clocks.

when you say gaming, most people here considered 1920x1080/1200 as for gaming resolution. but for me it doesn't mean people with lower resolution are not hard gamer :p  for lower resolution GT220 should be fine but still the card have to struggle when you max out everything in the game.
