Hi,

Someone used a wet mop on the cord of my surge protector that plugs into the wall. I have a brand new PC connected to this surge protector. Do you think the wet mop might have caused some damage to the surge protector? The cord does not look physically damaged, but maybe there are some tiny cracks in the insulation that would let water get in?

Should I replace the surge protector? Or am I safe if I just let it dry out overnight?

Thanks!

Did it blow up on you? If not its fine.

The cable between the surge protector and the wall isnt something to worry about water getting into, the water isnt going to hurt the cable, there are no sensitive electronics in there, and if it didnt immediately short out and burn its perfectly fine, insulation on cords is pretty thick and the spacing between wires is pretty large so it would take a fair amount of water INSIDE the cable to be able to maintain a short.
