How to find out a CPU is dead

my PC fans our running but no beep no display
one of my friend tolled me that if the cpu is not getting heat mostly it has gone .

CPUs rarely fail. Are the CPU power and the motherboard power cables plugged in and well mated? What are specs for the PC? Make, Model?

turn on your monitor. wait for no signal and time how long it takes b4 it jumps into standby. this is your baseline.

turn it on again, wait for no signal then as soon as you see it turn on your pc. if the cpu is dead the monitor will immediately jump into standby mode.

this is a standard test for a dead cpu.

is this a new build or have you recently reseated the cpu? if so, then its possible you bent one of the socket pins/cpu pins. I did this a couple months ago... took me days to find out what was wrong.

I guess there must have dust on your fan which doesn’t allow it working properly. Show it to your local computer repair expert.

if your cpu has died it wouldnt post.
however most of us believe that the last thing that dies would be the cpu.
I want to know a few things:
Could you fix on the speakers to your mobo to insure that it isnt your mobo?They would often give you startup beeps once you enter the OS.
Could you check if your psu is working properly?

could be a problem in bios, reset bios by jumper or take battery out for a minit . look up ur board to find out .
