Hey guys, I'm planning on jumping ship to intel and upgrading to ivybridge when it comes out later this year, and since it supports lga 1155, i figured i would stagger my spending a bit and buy the motherboard a bit earlier than the processor. i did a bit of research (since prior to this i knew nothing about intel boards) and found this:

ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131790

i plan to overclock and MAYBE do crossfire in a year or two with two 7970s; i'm also going to be using 1600mhz 16 gb ddr3 RAM that i have now. this is a good board for that, right? Thanks.

That's an absolute great board and will be more than capable of handling the specs you listed. I personally have gone with the ASRock Extreme7 Gen3 for a similar setup, but have heard great things about your board--good choice!

I am not absolutely sure but i think that LGA 1156 should also work with ivy bridge?
Just curious since FSB speed is 2Gigabytes per sec... should be enough, right?
