Broadband 1 Meg running like a dog

Hi everyone, hope you are going to be able to help me.

I recently moved ISP and upgraded from ADSL 512k to a 1 meg ADSL connection. Same modem and line just an upgraded line.

Since then my pings playing online are averaging about 150 when I was getting pings of around 40 on my 512k connection.

Anyone any ideas what the hell is going on?

Run some tests on <A HREF="http://www.dslreports.com" target="_new">http://www.dslreports.com</A> to see if it picks up any config probs or tweaks you could do.
Has your ISP done any "upgrading" that you know of? They may have "updated" their routing system causing pings to suck. That is the problem with cox cable internet in some areas.
Go to a command prompt and type in tracert (ip or domain like www.google.com or the game server you play on)
If it is taking more than 10 or so hops you can blame your ISP for sucking
