Flexible 3 way sli connectors

Hello,
Two questions: Does a flexible 3 way SLI connector exist and why do the rigid 3 way SLI connectors have 6 connection spots?

This is the biggest selection of bridges I could find. I haven't seen any flexible ones. They have 6 spots because each card has 2. I have no idea if you need both connected, or if you could have just one like crossfire though.
