this is what i have running right now

i just got pny gtx460 oc
and antec AD-500 psu as upgrade still waiting to be delivered and have not installed anything yet

will this work? and if it does what kind of improvment will i notice or is it overkill and wont notice any

Solution
yes you will notice an improvement but the 460 is likley to be to much gpu for your cpu in some games. your gonna have to max out a lot of games just to get playable frame rates...
due to having a dual core cpu. yeah maxing out is great but you also want a constant frame rate over 30fps, on games like battlefield BC2 your gonna get huge variation from 50+fps down to 10 or less fps and your gpu will not fully load up to 100 percent. you will be lucky to hit 50%. most games will show marked improvement but i the end your gonna want to upgrade the cpu to a quad to get the most out of it.
