Approximate Purchase Date: Next month or two

Budget Range: 700-800

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Playing some games like League of Legends, Starcraft 2, etc. Would prefer max settings at a nice high fps.

Parts Not Required: All I have is a mouse and keyboard

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg

Country of Origin: My country of origin, or the parts? I don't care about the parts, as long as they work.

Parts Preferences: whichever is faster these days, amd/intel.... a monitor around 20".

Overclocking: probably not

SLI or Crossfire: maybe in the future

Monitor Resolution: 1440x900 or higher

Additional Comments: the case doesn't have to be super snazzy. 500gb hdd would suffice. i just want to be able to play my games and multitask at the same time. maybe record games or stream them as well.

I just ordered all this last evening might be of some help to you. Have talked to a few people here on the forums and they all seem VERY knowledgeable. So If you don't like this I'm sure there will be plenty of other people that can help you. I can let you know how all this works and fits together sometime towards the end of the week once I get it and put it all together.

Here is a link to my thread so you can see how it progressed over time. Only thing you might have to watch as they told me is the heatsink being to big for the case I choose. I had ordered it last evening before I saw the peoples replies so it might be to big and I'll have to order a different one. We'll see.

If you have any questions feel free to ask I'll help where I can. ( I am new to this myself so not sure what I can offer lol) If I can't sure there are many more people on there that can. Enjoy!

Let me know how the ASRock mobo does. I have purchased 4 ASRock boards in the last 3 months and 2 of them were defective. When they do work, however, they are awesome.

Great, You have me worried now. Lets hope for the best. From what I've read about it though its a good card for the money. You can Crossfire down the road if you like and and it has the USB 3 and a few more attractive addons. Here's to hoping that its not a DOA :0)

@mtflyfisher: have you received the mobo yet and confirmed that it's working?

also, would this build do max settings at a high res in games like SC2?

anyone else have suggestions, i am looking to order in the next month or so.

mtflyfisher,

How did the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 fit in the case? are you able to put the side panel back on? I thought it would be too tall and touch the side panel as I have a similar set up with MSI MB.

thanks in advance for reply

id go with the antec 300. its a better built case, and i know for a fact the hyper 212 fits inside it. tomshardware recommended the challenger when it cost $40, not $55.
