Speedtouch 330 what difference between pppoa and pppoe

hello there please i need a help

i have 2mb ADSL line & SPPEDTOUCH 330 modem and i feel it too slow for this speed
i need to know if there is a special setup for my modem for this speed
& what the difference between PPPOA & PPPOE

I think I'd replace the Speedtouch with a proper router -- did this with a similar Tiscali setup which had a USB modem and put in a Netgear and it allowed the user to connect a second computer without the vagaries of Windows Internet Connection Sharing -- and speed seemed to improve.
