in windows 9x-Me you could make a shortcut
rundll32.exe user.exe,exitwindows
which would exit windows (duh :) ) with the simple click of a shortcut

is there a similar shortcut in windows XP ?

tnx in advance,

not sure if you can do that in xp.
anyways...just a question...
whats wrong with clicking on the start menu -> "turn off computer" -> "turn off"?
you're clicking like two extra buttons.
or, how bout
pressing ALT and F4(at the same time of course) when you're on the desktop and clicking "turn off"?
thats one more extra button you have to click.
ah well...some people just want to turn off their win xp system as fast as they can.

I don't claim to know anything about everything, I just tell people what I know.

yes, well, if you know the shortcut, you can integrate them in some simplistic scripts, for example fir mIRC, or you could use it in conjunction with winkey (which lets you bind commands to winkey-key), and so on. It's just nice to know
