Hey all, trying to become more knowledgeable about computer specifics and would like some help understanding why one motherboard is better than the other.

Here is my plan.

I have an i7 920 unclocked with aftermarket cooler
I have a gigabyte board right now and will be upgrading.
I have 1 HAWK gtx 460
I have 6 gigs of ddr 3 ram

I will be hopefully getting

1 more HAWK GTX 460
1 Crucial M4 SSD
Either the X58 or P8P67 Mobo
Possibly more ram

I have compared the two mobos on newegg and see a couple differences but not sure which would be a better choice. Both are around same price.

Will i be ok with either one. ATM i am leaning towards Sabertooth. My brother has it and it performs well but i am a big fan of easy BIOS and i have read the P8P67 has easy overclocking utilities.

Thanks in advance.

Hmm don't under estimate X58's... [strike]You listed nothing that would complete me to ditch anything you've listed above.

[strike]Q - What's the need to upgrade your X58 MOBO?[/strike] Noted the M4 SSD

Clearly, no LGA 1366 e.g. i7-920 will or can work on any LGA 1155 MOBO; LGA 1366 = 1366 CPU pins and LGA 1155 = 1155 CPU pins.

The LGA 1366 MOBO's to look at are those with the Marvell 9182 x2 PCIe (not to be confused with the x1 PCIe Marvell 912X). The Gigabyte G1 Series LGA 1366 and GA-X58A-OC have the faster (double bandwidth) Marvell 9182 chipset for full SATA3 speed ; see -> http://www.gigabyte.us/products/list.aspx?s=42&jid=1&p=2&v=1
