I've got two 7200rpm seagate sata drives already, so with these parts, I'm ready for my first build!

I'm a newbie, so I'm not super interested in over clocking my CPU or RAM, unless you all convince me my setup will remain the super stable at the increased performance (heat) levels allowed through over clocking.

Hey there prad0597,

That's a very good build, and very similar to what I use currently. One thing I noticed is you put:

"G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9S-4GBRL
Item #: N82E16820231310
Memory Standard Return Policy
$81.98
($40.99 ea) "

Does this mean you are wanting 8Gb of ram? You probably do not need that much, and 4 GB in total usually does the trick for gaming and day to day use. So you might be better off (and save money) buy getting a (2 X 2GB) package of RAM instead. You also might want to consider a GTX 460 Graphics card (about $20 more) It would be worth the investment, and def. worth the price difference.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for getting back to me. I bought this board thinking I may upgrade to a six core in the future, and at the same time kick up to 16gb RAM, maybe over the next year. I do some video editing as well, in adobe premiere, but I also game.

So, I want something good all around!

I'm hoping this will do the job.

As I envision the build, it seems that everything should be pretty intuitive. I'm scared to death I'll make some newbie mistake and fry a component or something, which is why I started out with a build that should be pretty simple. I don't have much experience, but I'm excited to learn.
