Xps 600 processor upgrade

Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my xps 600 from a pentium 4 chip to a Core 2 Quad Q6600. It's right for the socket type (775) but i need to be sure that it's compatible with the motherboard and BIOS. Help? Oh, and if this processor isn't compatible would someone mind suggesting another. Thanks
