Updating the BIOS , turn the PCI-E x16 into PCI-E 2.0 ?

Hi everybody! I have a motherboard with pci-e x16 1.1 and i bought a graphic card that is 2.0. I know that is compatible , but i heard that a BIOS update improve some things such as compatibility between components ..... so tell me please what does exact that BIOS update. Thanks!

Welcome to Tom's Forum!

Nope, PCIe 1.x and PCIe 2.x and if the PCIe is through a 'switch or chipset' then that's a physical difference and no BIOS or EPROM will make it work at PCIe 2.x.
