Two ASUS Xonar Essence cards?

Hey TH, just a quick question. What are the differences between this ASUS Xonar

The only difference I see is in the price (10$). The pci slot choice is different and the second card gives 124 dB vs 118dB.

Sorry if its obvious, I really did try looking around

One is on PCI and one on PCIe that's the only difference from what I know. The same for the cheaper Xonar DX and D1. Depending on your mobo layout and your other expansion cards you can get one or another.

Both cards have the same specs except that the ST has a 117 dB S/N ratio for the headphone output in comparison to the 110 dB available on the STX version.. Rest all specs remain the same..

The STX do not have clock jitter reduction like the ST. They have same headphone amp.

PCI is getting killed off, and with how good an Essence STX you'll want the PCI-E version so you can keep it as long as possible

Yeah, I figured that it would be better to get the PCI-E version since then it wont be stealing a PCI slot from what could be used for a graphics cards. Thanks for the help guys.

Uhh I guess you meant the exact opposite.. Video cards use the pci express slot and not PCI..

Thanks for all your guys help. Put my order in at Newegg on saturday. I cant wait to hook up my Beats of Dr. Dre to it..... Just messing I would never soil a beautiful card like this with.. well yeah.. I am using Audio Technica ATH-M50's.
