Hello to all in the community.
Now, I want to ask a question about my MB which is GA-M55S-S3 (rev. 1.0).
The question is that I want to upgrade my PC with new CPU but the problem is that this MB is a little bit old. I don't have a enough to buy new MB so for now my wish is to upgrade it with new CPU.
The list with available CPUs for this model is showing that not all AMDs are suitable for it.
Here's the list:
http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=2316

Now I want to buy a CPU which is:
"AMD Phenom II X4 955 3200MHz 512KBx4 6MB Deneb 45nm C3 95W 4000 F13B" which as you can see is the best CPU for this MB from the list.
The question here is that this CPU could fit in, but the same CPU with 125W is not going to be suitable for my MB.
I asked Gigabyte for this riddle and they said that my MB doesn't work with 125W CPUs. Which in my opinion isn't right because my present CPU is:
"AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400 3200MHz 1MBx2 Windsor 90nm F3 125W 2000"
So from Gigabyte are telling me that my MB isn't working with 125W CPUs but the reality is showing me that it is working, and it work's as properly as it could work.
The 95W phenom || as I have read recently is CPU that is built for Asia market only and it isn't even included in the official list of AMD.
So help me please and tell me what do you think, could this 125W of Phenom || CPU is going to work with my MB or it is going be a waste of time and money?
Thank you in advance.

Which cpu's are not showing suitable??

Nowhere on Gigabyte's website does it say you can NOT use 125w cpu....and there are many 125w cpu's listed on the cpu support list....soooo I have no idea why you would think you can't use a 125w cpu or why you feel you would have to ASK Gigabyte if something that clearly shows on the cpu support list is supported.

OK then what's the difference between those three:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3200MHz 512KBx4 6MB Deneb 45nm C3 125W 4000 N/A
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3200MHz 512KBx4 6MB Deneb 45nm C3 95W 4000 F13B
AMD Phenom II X4 955 3200MHz 512KBx4 6MB Deneb 45nm C2 125W 4000 N/A
The only difference is in the power need of CPU. So why the one with 95W is going to work and other with 125W is listed as N/A?

N/A probably just means they didn't test it. There are several 95w and 45w cpu's listed as N/A too. They don't have the time or resources to test every single model and variation of every cpu that comes out especially on a old discontinued motherboard.

I can't imagine why a 125w dual core would be listed and not a 125w quad core or hexacore other than they haven't gotten around to testing newer cpu's on an older board.
