Looks like a good build, you could even look at my guide for anything else.

1) Change that cooler to the Hyper 212+, that's pretty pricey and doesn't cool as well as the Hyper 212+ does for its price. Get the 212+ for 27$ and free shipping off Amazon.
2) Change the PSU, something like an XFX 750 or 650 would do just fine. That or a Corsair of the same wattage.

i have one more question...............i know all about the sandy bridge issues and that was the cpu and motherboard i had originally planned on getting............would it be stupid to buy the ASUS P8H67-M PRO...........and i5 2500k off amazon???? i dont think i will have to use the ports that are messed up but i wanna make sure nothing else will go wrong

Well..... Because all the mobo makers begged Intel to allow them to sell the bad Cougar Point (so the faulty mobos) motherboards, they are remaking and selling with the error still part of them. I personally find myself (if I bought a SB desktop) using it longer than 3 yrs (which is the duration they say it'll start failing according to MSI). Since I don't see us as a global world using anything more powerful than how far we've gotten already. Some games still don't even fully utilize the GPUs and CPUs we have now. I'm referring to Black Ops, CSS, TF2, Valve/Source games in general.

Oh I didn't give a definitive answer, I think you should wait for the fix. No reason to get a faulty board/chipset that'll degrade.
