Application to terminate specific programme upon VPN disconnect

I would like to find a programme which will terminate a running programme when a connection is lost with a VPN server.
For Windows XP or 7 either one.
I have found such things as "Intelligent Shutdown" which will reboot the system when a connection is lost, but I would like to just terminate a programme rather than totally reboot.

Make a batch file that uses the taskkill command to stop the programs. You can save it on your desktop and just double click it after you stop the vpn connection.
