Would this system be good for gaming

hi all im buying my first real gaming rig.id like to get the most out of the gfx card heres what i have in my cart at tigerdirect

for now ill be gaming at 1280x1024 untill i can afford a nice 1080p moniter

Save some money and grab a GTX 560 or Radeon 6850 for now. Crossfire/ SLI down the road when you can afford another one! The Xfire scaling on the new AMD cards are pretty impressive and if you plan on playing Crysis 2 or Duke Nukem or any of the other new titles coming soon, its not a bad idea.

Those choices seem ok to me, but as shineon said, the GTX560 Ti is much better value for money. Cheaper and it nips at the heels of the 570 anyway with a little clock tweaking. Eats the 6850/6870 for breakfast on a lot of titles. Plus you get physx, not always useful but nicer than not having it.

The CPU in the build will be ample, mine is worse than that and handles everything fine.

The PSU in that bundle is really not up to par, and using a GTX 570 in that build is going to push it to/beyond its limits, as it only has 30a on the 12v rail.

Going SLI as some suggests will end in disaster!
