Asus p8z68-v pro second hard drive not detected

Hi All,

I've only seen threads with for this mobo that have a similar issue when only using one HDD. If this issue has been previously posted and resolved, please link me and forgive my ignorance.

My PC boots to the SSD and I use the WD Caviar Blue as my storage drive. The Samsung is brand new and was just formatted, and the Caviar Blue is my storage drive from my previous build. Both drives show up in the bios. However, when I am in Windows, the WD Caviar Blue drive does not show up and I cannot access it at all. What is causing this and how can I fix it?

Does the WD show up in Disk Management? If so, check to see if it is enabled. I am on my Linux box right now, but as I recall in disk management, you can right click on the drive in question and one of the menu items should be what you need.

If this does not fix it, report back and we can explore other possibilities.

Thanks! Worked perfectly. All I had to do was assign the drive a letter. I'm a bit of a noob I guess... thanks again!
