Asus bios flash failed Tags: Asus BIOS Computer Windows 7 Motherboards Last response: January 20, 2012 7:49 PM in Motherboards Share syntaxxx January 12, 2012 9:59:54 PM Hello, i have a computer of my sisters for uni work that she wants to upgrade. it currently runs windows xp no problems. i have a hard drive with windows 7 on it from my good computer and it boots perfect and loads into windows 7 etc. cloned it. with bootsuite2011 tested the clone in the computer i cloned it from and it works sweet. i put it in the other PC and no such luck, drops out at the windows loading screen. i tried all all bootsuite tools to fix the problem with no luck is the problem that windows 7 will not load on an older bios? so i thought that might be the problem anyway so i tried updating bios with another dead end. bios will not update no matter which bios i use it says its not compatible. current bios is: model: P5L-VM-1394 version: 0405 chipset: 945G date : 1/10/2007 Bios Type: AMI Bios Size: 512k i tried using EZ Flash 2 that is built into my system and it says that the bios ID is incompatible or something (and i tried all bios available for that board from ASUS site) i also tried running the XP HDD and using the AFUWIN with no luck either and a couple other flash programs. is there something i have missed and I'm focusing on the wrong area??? As far as BIOS, only use ASUS EZ Flash 2 and never through the OS - ever. ASUS P5L-VM 1394 - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5LVM...
